Le Culture de mardi

Bonjour; classe!   Aujourd’hui nous voyageons à Paris (encore une fois, désolée!).

The museum we tour today has a long history.  I had read that the building, a train station, constructed in « un voisinage bourgeois » (bougie neighborhood), was a source of frustration to the people who lived nearby, that they hated the noise of it, and that they protested to the government, who turned the station into a museum.  But the website linked below says  » The building was a railway station which became unsuitable for modern trains » —   You know, you cannot always believe what you read on the internet!  But I’m going to do some more research in the newspapers, etc: and magazine articles online to see what I can find about this history!  Why don’t you look around the website and find out what you can for yourself!

Enjoy the tour – and leave me a comment about what you enjoyed most.  Or join me on zoom à 11h!     à plus!

C’est aujourd’hui lundi, le treize avril. Nous allons aux Caraïbes

On continue rester chez nous!  échappons! (let’s escape)

This island departement of France always confuses me — Today’s destination is « Guadeloupe. » (Watch the vidéo to learn how to pronounce it in French!)  But I often confuse this place with places in Mexico and the southwest, and « Our Lady of Guadalupe » – but you are smarter than I am, and will be able to compare and contrast these two words (Guadeloupe vs Guadalupe)!  This assignment is due vendredi le 17 avril.  (faites attention! – the video is no longer available after Friday à 23:59)

Objective:  Fr02 and Fr04 are doing the same lesson – MAIS (but) Fr02 write a minimum of five sentences for the paragraph portion – use one sentence in passé composé, Fr04 write a minimum of ten sentences and use present, pc et imparfait.

Hints – when you go to the link below, you will see a link for transcription at the bottom left.  READ the transcript to better understand the video.  HINT – watch, read, then watch again.  Do not worry if you do not understand everything being said – you are working on improving, and this takes practice.

  • Parler : donner son opinion (vendredi à Zoom)
  • Regarder
  • Vocabulaire : synonymes et antonymes, les vacances
  • Écouter
  • Écrire : les vacances parfaits

Assessement – Regarder (see link below) et faites (do): 1.  The activity (multiple choice) on the webpage.  tell me your « score » (don’t worry, it’s not a test, you get « points » for doing the work).    et  2.  écrire (write) une paragraphe: Nous sommes à la quarantaine (quarantine)?  Comment tu passes la journée (day).  Quel est ton endroit (place) favori pour les vacances?  Où est-ce que tu voudrais (would like) aller si tu avais des milliones de dollars (n’importe où, imagine les meilleures vacances)?

Please upload your « score » and paragraph to this website (leave a comment) or email me, so send me a link to a google doc.
